What a fine gentleman Jerry was! He always had a smile and a word of kindness, something to share or maybe just a nod. We had know Jerry for many years. Always the same kind person, friend. Church just wont seem right without him. He will be missed!!! Love and Prayers for the Cheatham Family.

I am very mixed emotionally. Jerry was my buddy and I am sad because I will miss him. On the other hand, Jerry was my buddy and I am rejoicing because he has made it to where we all want to go – no more pain, sadness or disappointments. We haven’t been at Southport very long but it has been an extreme joy to be Jerry’s friend. We all will face that same crossing if Jesus tarries. May the Lord find us as faithful as He did Jerry.

I’ve known Jerry since I started at NCS and Southport in 1978. Had the pleasure of visiting Washington DC with him last year. Always was an encouragement. Was just talking to him about his truck last week and shared the box in the hallway as a seat on Weds. I got to know him better on our trip and believe he influenced me a it since then. He will be missed.

.He was a special person to our church….I love all of the Cheatham family …..I will miss the crossword puzzle Jerry would bring to Primetime breakfast….Jerry learned a new word at the last breakfast tomfullery and he said he never heard of that before…..I would help him out of his seat every time cause his body would not cooperate with what he needed to do …I would either pull him up or push him out of his seat…..We all had a good laugh every time….Jerry will be missed !!…He loved God and he loved his family !!…My love and prayers go to Treva and the rest of the family….He is finally singing in heaven with his beautiful voice….Until we meet again !!

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am available for anything you need. This was such a shock to me. In time may ALL the wonderful memories be a comfort to all the family. The day my Mother passed to me is the day she went home.

Jerry was the sweetest man. I always looked forward to having a service (I know that sounds odd!) at Southport Church of the Nazarene because that meant I got to spend the whole time chatting with Jerry and learning all kinds of things. I’m sad that I will never get that opportunity again.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Jerry. The passing away of a loved one is always with much sorrow. May we have faith and confidence in the Bible’s promise of a time when pain, sickness and death are a thing of the past (Revelation 21:3, 4). My condolences are with the family at this difficult time.

I have never known church to be without Jerry. He was always there. He definitly was a precious man of God serving in every way he possibly could. He did not know a stranger which I always felt was a true blessing. He will be missed, but I felt joy in just knowing the great reunion he was having with others that I miss very much. All my love to the family.
